What can we learn from Cleopatra that is relevant to us today?
Born into an ambitious family who had held the throne of Egypt since the time of Alexander the Great, some three hundred years before, Cleopatra Thea Philopator, who would later come to be known as simply, Cleopatra, was always going to be a force to be reckoned with.
An intelligent young woman, Cleopatra knew that if she was to rule the way she intended with Egypt as an independent powerhouse from the might of Rome, things would need to be done her way and her way alone.
The issue she faced was that she was destined to share her throne with that of her younger brother, Ptolemy XIII, which she had done so since the age of 18 and which had been decreed by her father, Ptolemy XII Auletes, upon his death, as was the custom of the time.
No doubt this situation, combined with the fact that her co-regent sibling was eight years her junior was more than a little frustrating for the older, visionary queen.
A few years later in her early twenties, Cleopatra made her first attempt at making herself sole sovereign of Egypt and as a result was driven from the royal palace in Alexandria by her brother.
Determined not to give up, Cleopatra responded by heading to Syria to round up a mercenary army.
However, it was clear that even with a mercenary army, the young Queen would require a different strategy to reclaim the throne.
The Roman General had been pursuing a rival who had fled to Egypt and Caesar had found himself in the capital of Alexandria, where he quickly became embroiled in the dispute between the siblings.
Taking up residence in the palace, Caesar’s plan was to mediate a resolution that would keep the peace between them and keep the country stable.
It was in Rome’s best interest as the wealth produced with Egypt’s bountiful supply of grains, crops and farms made Egypt an important, submissive and valuable ally to the ever expanding Roman Empire and the huge population it needed to feed.
But Ptolemy XIII denied Cleopatra access to Caesar, using his armed forces, he blocked her from Alexandria.
Between the Roman General's own private security and that of her brother’s army, there was no viable way of getting to Caesar.
Cleopatra knew she could not let the opportunity pass.
Connecting with Caesar was crucial, she knew he alone would have the power to reinstate her to the throne.
Accessing one of the tools used in PΞRSONAL ALKHΞMY™, Cleopatra was able to create an ingenious plan to counter the problem.
The young Queen convinced her servant, Apollodorus, to wrap her in a carpet, walk straight past her brother's army and the General's private security and present her hidden within the carpet, as a gift to the unsuspecting Caesar.
It must have been quite a sight to behold, to see a charismatic and determined young woman emerge from the carpet, presenting herself as the Queen Cleopatra, to the no doubt surprised and highly amused Roman General.
Had Cleopatra not connected to her authentic power in her creativity, she may not have come up with such a brilliant and original strategy to get close to Caesar, which would have ultimately cost her the throne for good and more than likely, ended up costing her life.
Instead it was a huge victory for Cleopatra, allowing her to reclaim her position at the throne alongside her brother and later succeeding in her quest for sole sovereignty.
She spoke about nine different languages, maintained autonomy from Rome and re-established crucial trade routes that had previously been left to disintegrate by former leaders to name just a few of her impressive feats during her reign.
Cleopatra went on to become one of the most powerful, enigmatic and visionary leaders the world has ever seen.

With running a vast empire and the obvious stresses, numerous duties and challenges that came with the position, the Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt employed a sole Vizier.
The Vizier was responsible for all matters of daily life, from maintaining civil order, as well as overseeing special tasks and events and even investigating problems or discrepancies on behalf of their leader to ensuring the pharaoh's overall wellbeing on a daily basis.
Vizier's were viewed as the special advisor to the pharaoh and more often than not, this non-royal but prestigious position was bestowed upon a trusted family member in whom the pharaoh had great confidence.
Because of their power, Ancient Egyptian viziers, were expected to be law-abiding, impartial, and levelheaded. Hieroglyphs often depict the viziers wearing long, white robes; these symbolized their purity of heart and spirit.
As the Pharaoh of your personal empire, you now have the opportunity of working with your very own modern day Vizier, Dani Andersen, to help you powerfully transform and enhance your life and leadership to the highest levels possible in the same manner that was successfully utilised thousands of years ago.
